Born on 26 March 1985 in Teddington, London, England, Keira Christina Knightley began her career with made-for-television films she got her first big role in 1999 as Sab , Padm Amidala's decoy in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. Knightley followed this with the movies Princess of Thieves, The Hole and of Doctor Zhivago. Knightley got her breakthrough in Bend It Like Beckham and followed it up with the hugely successful Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Knightley had a smaller role in Love Actually and King Arthur before Domino and the successful Pride and Prejudice in 2005. Knightley then did her biggest financial success so far in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Lately Knightley has been in the critically acclaimed Atonement, The Edge of Love and The Duchess.
